Fiberglass giants towered over America's highways in the 1960s. Most held a muffler in outstretched arms; the position of arms of Big John in Great Falls, Montana makes it an unusual example of the craft. Factory prices in the 1960s for a 20 foot high Muffler Man started around $1,800. Collectors today pay over ten times that amount, if a willing seller can be found.
