Under the golden arch

DSC_0162.jpg

7:58:34 a.m.: A very patient dawn spectator

Dawn at this location depends on direction of light (better in the winter than April) or some dramatic clouds. I liked the pattern of the shadows, and then I saw him basking in the sun, a classic R pose.

Shadow pattern improved, and the two people breakfasting under the arch have moved on.

I don't think it's right to get upset at people enjoying their park experience and "ruining" one's photos, but some photographers get touchy. I have asked people to move their shadows, but I also volunteer to take their vacation photos. We're all there to have a good time. And the world does not desperately need another perfect landscape from Arches, even if I make it, as much as we need harmony in these places.

Well, another 12 inches and it is a 500 foot drop to death. So it was contrived basking.

Aaaahhhhhh, Photoshop's stamp clone tool is your friend when it comes to inconsiderate intruders. It's like they never existed..... unless of course you call the school of journalism home.
