Golden Spike National Historic Site (D2X)
Brilliant colors, not so good in the IR, so...
Golden Spike National Historic Site (D70 + IR filter + a lot of Photoshop)
I was trying to shoot for IR + regular remixes, I couldn't get the focus stable enough as I removed the filter, so I present this instead. I like the feel of the color scheme.
Golden Spike does reenactments all summer on Saturdays and holidays. Also found the Spiral Jetty site, completely submerged in the spring runoff, so I have no photo documentation of this truly bizarro Utah landmark. Apparently that quadrant of Box Elder county is badly infested with Mormon crickets, and we luckily didn't see any of those either.
Back at the Golden Spike reenactment, I definitely won the prize for most camera gear. Not that it's a contest, except for the macho gear collectors that I run away from. Gear is just a paperweight until you do something with it.

Awwww now.... that IR photo is fantastic. Looks like it could have been shot a hundred years ago. It has that wonderful sort of age about it, but is too sharp. Muddy it up a bit, put in a scratch here or there and smudge it. :-) Seriously though, beautiful work.
