I found some zebras yesterday in a Sanpete County pasture
Sanpete County, about 100 miles from Salt Lake City, is famous for many kinds of animals: Rambouillet sheep breeding in the 1920s, the turkey farms of the 1940s and today, and some fine quarterhorses are being raised there. I know where to find a small-scale pig farmer and someone raising peacocks, but before yesterday, I had no idea anyone had stocked zebras on their land. Another mystery from the Highway 89 project.

There should be more zebras everywhere, just because they're cool.

Have you ever seen a cross between a horse and a zebra? Beautiful animals. Someone brought one to the Land of the Sun Endurance Ride last year.
If you're interested, that ride is coming up in Wickenburg (on highway 89, of course) this Saturday. It's a huge event with lots of horses and riders. Come on down; you can bunk at our house. I'm a volunteer and will be at the event on Friday, putting numbers on horse butts, and on Saturday, timing in the 50-mile riders at the halfway mark.

Michael Jackson has 4 giraffes and a camel down near Lake Powell. Maybe the zebras escaped?
