Seeing green

Cabin interior

Lots of stuff is happening around the homestead: I’m getting ready to shoot my first stage of a new studio project, there’s a talk coming up for the Utah Historical Society on Highway 89, and my first class for Lifelong Learning to prep for. Then we decided to tear apart our basement to turn a water leak into a legal egress window for resale potential of the palace.

As per usual, my coping method was to hit the road, to spend the weekend away with some friends and ponder the bigger questions of photography. Not much got solved there, but I did make a few pictures that pleased me.

In the mean time, I found out last week that the Highway 89 book was nominated by City Weekly for an Artys award in the non-fiction category. The winner in each category is selected by an on-line only poll. The entry with the most votes overall across all categories wins $1,000. I would really appreciate your vote before the polls close on September 2. That’d be some real green.

Voting is done on-line only, and you do have to give them an email address to prevent the “vote early and often” gaming of the awards. In exchange there are some pretty cool prizes for the voting public too. Vote here by Thursday. Thanks and let me know if you win a prize for voting.
